Went on an adventure the other day. On this adventure I saw some very interesting things… such as: The Dead Sea Scrolls (THE Dead Sea Scrolls.), and various ancient Egyptian treasures, some from Tutankhamen’s tomb. Sadly pictures were strictly prohibited… I was being watched and didn’t see any opportunities to sneak any. Twas a grand time and a rare opportunity, anyhow.

Have you ever heard the song “Sea Lions,” by Sage Francis? I’m not a fan of rap. Very much not a fan… but this song is excellent. The beat is hypnotic, you can’t help but bob your head to it. But if you look for it on YouTube or download it, make sure it is the version that features Saul Williams. If I understand correctly, this version (featuring Saul Williams) is not the version on the album. The album version is only with Sage Francis.

While you're at it, look up Saul Williams’ "Coded Language." There are two versions of this as well, one to music and one just verse at the Def Poetry Jam. Both are equally great.

While we're on the subject: Damian Marley, "Road to Zion."

Digression.

Do you have any Chi Tea? If you do, rip and bag open and put it in with your coffee (in the filter, best if the Chi tea goes in first) when you next make coffee. One bag will do. You’ll thank me later... assuming, of coarse, you LIKE pumpkin pie.

That is all. Go now.

Doing a lot of thinking lately. I’m bored. Bored is not good. Bored is bad. SO. To cure this boredom… school and extracurricular activitrons.

Topic A: School.

What the shit should I go to school for? Possibilities and considerations are as follows: Psychiatry/Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Archeology, Religious Studies, Funeral Directory, History, Welding, and Carpentry.

Holy shit, that’s a lot of choices. The majority of those require LOTS of school. And I mean upgrading as well as the actual university and/or college years required. However, while most of those would be very interesting, most of them don’t pay shit at the best of times, and the economy can, in my own humble opinion, be described presently in this analogy…

Knock, knock!
Who is there?
The economy!
The economy who?
Exactly!

So that pretty much leave welding and carpentry. I’ve done the carpentry bit. Its was fun and I did it well (or so I’m told), however, I’m not one for showing up at stranger’s houses and installing cabinets. I like a work space. My own little nook and cranny where I get to do my shit. So, this leaves WELDING!

Welding is something that’s been looked at and set aside repeatedly in the last few years. Again and again and again I’ve looked at it. A bonuses to welding? It can be done as a hobby. Make neat shit. Sell said neat shit. That works for me. That’s works for me quite well. Also the demand for skill welders is high. So if I were to decide I felt like beginning an actual career off of it, the option is more then available. That being said, let us move to-

Topic B: Extracurricular Activitrons

A project I’ve been pondering for years is blacksmithing. Specifically weapons and armor crafting. This won’t be possible for a number of year because I simply don’t have the resources or the knowledge required for such things. If I were to get into welding and learn some things about metals… that makes it a wee bit easier… and I mean just a wee bit. Fractions.

There is SCA where I am! This is also good. Heavy fighting (heavier and harder then the usual foam combat), fencing, archery and other such things. Fun.

Speaking of foam combat… foam combat! Need I say more?

Also, to a lesser extent but still worth mentioning, the ol’ D&D. Brass dice, FTW.

So in conclusion, options are available. There are plenty of things that can take up my time. Plenty. The only hard part is getting the initiative to get off my ass and get shit rolling.

My rant is now complete. Thank you for your time and good day.

My well of drawing ideas seems to have run out. The well of doodling seems to have gon e dry and filled with the waters of random poetry, or as I like to call them, “word attacks.” I just came up with that now. Seems fitting. Its likely I’ll never use that term again.

Anywho.

I’m going to have to brain storm some ideas. I guess I could write a story. Haven’t done that in a bit.

Blah.

FACT: I’m presently reading “Chronicles of the Black Company” by Glean Cook. Damn good books. Damn good. Fantasy novels tends to quite… well, generic. These, on the other hand… these are quite unique. Why? One word. Mercenaries. Fuck yeah. The Black Company is an elite fighting unit who works for the highest bidder. And in the case of this particular series of novels, the highest bidder was those who would normaly find themselves under “Antagonist.” It’s hard to describe the plot of these novels without giving too much away, as they are fast paced (and action packed) and the story moves on rather quickly. Even the dialogue when there isn’t a battle or two going on is good. Like fantasy novels? Like military fiction? Like them BOTH? Get these novels. Good. Shit.

What else is new… its raining! Neat!

ABRUPT ENDING

By the way... WHAT A SPLENDED PIE! PIZZA - PIZZA PIE! EVERY MINUT, EVERY SECOND, PIE PIE PIE PIE PIE. Pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olives, chives.

That is all.
